Surprisingly, very few people know how to properly use a fire extinguisher

The first thing to do when you notice a fire is to call the fire department (911). If you do not feel that you can safely handle a fire, leave immediately and take everyone else out of the building with you. Close the doors behind you to slow the spread of flames. If you do feel you can safely handle the fire be sure to stay between the fire and an exit so you don’t let the fire block your escape.
