This is a catch and release tournament. Live wells and life jackets are required. Check in at the marina parking lot on Friday, June 3rd 4:30 p.m. til 6:00 p.m., or Saturday 4:00 a.m. til 5:00 a.m. Blast off at 5:45 a.m. or at first safe light, by draw.

2022 Bass Tournament Recap
Cloudy, windy and with the threat of rain all day was the theme for this years’ 29th Annual Paul Jadro Memorial Bass Tournament hosted by Company 2 of the Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department (technically the 28th having missed 2020 due to Covid). All in all fishing was good with slightly lower than average weights being brought to the scales. Of the 140 fish that were weighed in, all but two were released alive and well.
For the eighth time since the first annual in 1994, could be the 9th as we are unable to account for 2010, the duo of Brian Barthman and Tom Helberg claimed the winners circle with a total weight of 19.44 lbs. Their winnings included the $1,000.00 for 1st place, hats and plaques as well as 3rd big fish money.
Finishing in 2nd place and with the 2nd big fish of the tournament was the team of Trevor Thrash and Thad Rutledge weighing in a very close to 1st place weight of 19.24 lbs. They received 2nd place plaques and hats and $400.00 plus the payout for 2nd big fish.
In 3rd place with a total weight of 15.96 lbs. was the team of Sam Humphrey and Tom Bruce. The pair earned $300.00 for 3rd place in addition to the payout for the big fish of the event (5.32 lbs.) along with 3rd place plaques and hats.
It was a very tight race between the three competitors in the youth angler division with Romen Pedrotti edging out the others for first place with a team weight of 8.90 lbs. Hunter Sutton finished a close 2nd with 8.31 and sister Abbie Sutton rounded out the youth division with 7.77 lbs.
